Reading email through other clients
How to setup Thunderbird, Eudora, etc. with your Exchange account

ThunderbirdIn Thunderbird go to EDIT
Go to Account Settings
Click on Add Account
Leave on Email Account
Enter Your Name:
Enter your Email Address:
Click on next
Click on IMAP
Enter for Incoming Server: webmail.dawsoncollege.qc.ca
Click on next
Enter your Incoming User Name: jdoe
Click on next
Enter a Account Name: Exchange
Click on next
Click on Finish.
Outgoing Server (SMTP) is on port 25 with no SSL.
Now go to Server Settings of the new user.
Go to Security Settings and click on use SSL
This server has been setup for higher security.
Keeping Thunderbird sync with Microsoft IMAPIn Thunderbird go to EDIT
Go to Account Settings
Now go to Offline & Disk Space
Check off "Make the messages in my Inbox available when I am working offline".
Check off "When I create new folders, select them for offline use".
Click on Select folders for offline use...
Check off all the folders.
Click on OK
Now if you see or want to make sure everything is updated properly
Goto File > click on Compact Folders
You should be up to date on everything.
EudoraSetup with Exchange1. In Eudora go to Tools->Options. Real Name:
Email Address:
Mail Server (Incoming): webmail.dawsoncollege.qc.ca
User Name:
SMTP Server (Outgoing): webmail.dawsoncollege.qc.ca
Check "Allow Authentication".
3. Click on "Checking Mail". Mail Server: webmail.dawsoncollege.qc.ca
User Name:
Secure Sockets when Receiving: Required, Alternate Port
4. Click on "Incoming Mail". Server Configuration: IMAP
Authentication Style: Passwords
5. Click on "Sending Mail". Email address:
SMTP Server: webmail.dawsoncollege.qc.ca
SMTP Relay Personality:
Check "Allow authentication"
Migrate your email to ExchangeEudora emails can be imported directly in Outlook once an account has been set up. 1. Launch Outlook.
